Underfloor Above Ground Fire Protection

From 10 to 900 m3 UNI EN 12845 - Service Compartment-Technical Room UNI EN 11292:2019 for Fire-Fighting pumping unit

Pressurization Systems

Introduction

Edil Impianti2 S.r.l. manufactures storage tanks for Fire-Fighting Water Reserves.
Underground fire-fighting tanks are used to create water storage for the supply of fire-fighting systems.
It is possible to create fire-fighting storage capacities up to 900 m3; in addition to fire tanks, Edil Impianti2 also produces underground Service Compartments-Technical Rooms with relative access ladders and REI 60/120 doors for access to the technical compartment where the fire-fighting pumping units are installed.
The standards governing fire-fighting systems are UNI EN 12845, UNI 10779, and UNI 11292:2019.
The water supply for fire-fighting systems is generally regulated by the UNI EN 12845 standard regarding sprinkler systems and by the UNI 10779 standard regarding hydrant and hose reel systems.
Recently, the UNI 11292 standard was issued, which specifically regulates the rooms intended for housing the pumping units.
Prefabricated fire-fighting tanks, whether underground or above ground, are designed and manufactured in compliance with the aforementioned standards.
The type of water supply for the fire-fighting system must be established during the design phase based on the risk level.
The storage tank, the Service Compartment-Technical Room, and the pumping unit that make up the fire-fighting system must be compliant and sized according to the provisions of the standards based on the type of supply and the parameters to be met (supply duration, flow rate, and pump head).
Edil Impianti2 is at the disposal of fire-fighting system designers for the optimal choice of fire tanks and for the development of construction drawings in cooperation with the pumping unit supplier.

Features and Operating principle

Precast fire-fighting tanks from 10 to 900 m3 can be installed underground or above ground; underground fire tanks are connected to each other through connection holes equipped with PVC fittings with watertight gaskets, or stainless steel stubs or sleeves.
The underground fire-fighting tanks manufactured by Edil Impianti2 are entirely waterproofed using suitable products.
Prefabricated underground fire tanks allow for large storage capacities to meet various requirements.
Implementing a fire-fighting system with prefabricated underground tanks is a fast, safe method that offers significant savings in construction time and ensures high safety levels for workers on-site.
The prefabricated fire-fighting tanks produced by Edil Impianti2 can be supplied with thickened walls, reinforced rebar, and anti-floatation reinforcement.
Precast fire tanks can be supplied complete with a pressurization system and an underground Service Compartment-Technical Room, or with an above-ground installation.
The UNI EN 11292:2019 underground technical room for fire tanks is supplied complete with access ladder, REI door, ventilation holes, ducting, convector heater, lighting, painting, and everything else necessary to provide a compliant technical room.
Edil Impianti2 provides pressurization systems complete with testing and commissioning.
The pressurization systems installed by Edil Impianti2 are from the best brands currently on the market.
Edil Impianti2 is able to install pressurization systems upon request from the designer or the customer.
