Precast Fire protection Tank

Water Reserve Tank - Pressurization System Technical Room

(Standards UNI EN 12845 - UNI 10779 - UNI 11292)
Pressure Boosting, Fire Protection for Sprinkler and Hydrant Networks

Introduction

Edil Impianti 2 S.r.l. produces prefabricated reinforced concrete tanks for water reserves used to supply fire-fighting systems.
It is possible to create fire-fighting storage for any volume, even exceeding 1000 cubic meters. In addition to fire-fighting tanks, Edil Impianti 2 also produces underground and above-ground Service Compartments-Technical Rooms where fire-fighting pumping and pressurization units are installed, complete with all standard accessories (access ladders, REI 60/120 doors, etc.).
The standards regulating fire-fighting systems are UNI EN 12845, UNI 10779, and UNI 11292.
The water supply for fire-fighting systems is generally regulated by UNI EN 12845 for sprinkler systems, by UNI 10779 for hydrant/hose reel systems, and by UNI 11292, which specifically regulates the rooms intended to house pumping units.
Prefabricated underground or above-ground fire-fighting tanks are designed and manufactured in compliance with the aforementioned standards, offering advantageous prices compared to on-site construction or other materials.
The type of water supply for the fire-fighting system must be established during the design phase based on the risk level.
The storage tank, the Service Compartment-Technical Room, and the pumping/pressurization unit that make up the fire-fighting system must be compliant and sized according to the provisions of the standards based on the type of supply and the parameters to be respected (supply duration, pump flow rate, and head).
Edil Impianti 2 is at the disposal of system designers and fire-fighting professionals to help choose the optimal fire-fighting tanks and for the preparation of construction drawings in cooperation with the pumping unit supplier.
The fire-fighting system can be implemented in various ways; the final choice is the result of a careful technical and economic evaluation that also takes into account the installation site and the available space.
Prefabricated tanks of this type, used as reservoirs for hydrant fire-extinguishing systems, are probably the most common and widespread. Thanks to their advantageous price, they are used in facilities such as schools, residential buildings, garages, healthcare facilities, offices, public entertainment venues, sports facilities, and hospitality businesses.

Features and Operating Principles

Precast fire protection tanks from 10 to 900 cubic meters can be underground or positioned above ground; underground fire-fighting tanks are connected to each other through connection holes in which PVC fittings with watertight gaskets, or stainless steel stubs or sleeves, are inserted.
Underground fire-fighting tanks manufactured by Edil Impianti 2 are entirely waterproofed with suitable products.
Prefabricated underground fire-fighting tanks allow for large storage capacities capable of meeting various needs.
Building a fire-fighting system with prefabricated underground tanks is a fast, safe method that offers significant savings in construction time and high safety for workers on the construction site.
Prefabricated fire-fighting tanks produced by Edil Impianti 2 can be supplied with thickened walls, reinforced rebar, and anti-floatation bars.
Precast fire protection tanks can be complete with a pressurization system and a Technical Room.
The UNI EN 11292 underground technical compartment for fire protection tanks is supplied complete with an access ladder, REI door, ventilation holes, ducting, convector heater, lamps, painting, and everything else needed to provide a technical compartment compliant with standards.
Edil Impianti 2 provides pressurization systems complete with testing and commissioning.
The pressurization systems installed by Edil Impianti 2 are from the best brands currently on the market.
Edil Impianti 2 is able to install pressurization systems upon request from the designer and the client.
