Features and Operating Principle

The Dortmund-type settler is used in both drinking water and wastewater treatment; its main feature is having steeply sloped internal walls that form a pyramidal bottom. This inclination allows the sludge to slide and settle at the bottom of the hopper, from where it is then extracted by means of a submersible electric pump. The sewage is fed into the tank through a pipe connected to a submerged deflector; following an upward path, it then flows into the surface weir launder significantly clarified, making it suitable for final discharge or subsequent treatment.

Supply and installation of a Dortmund Sludge Sedimentation Tank for underground installation, produced in DECLARED SERIES, code SEDDORT_____, with external dimensions of cm.x____xh , useful volume of cu.m.____ and useful surface area of sq.m.____, manufactured by EDIL IMPIANTI 2 S.r.l. with UNI EN ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 management systems, made of single-block Vibrated Reinforced Concrete, reinforced with vertical pillars and horizontal stainless steel struts, with Elastocolor protective anti-cracking elastomeric paint on the external concrete walls for high permanent elasticity and high chemical resistance, concrete in compressive strength class C45/55 (RCK >55 N/mm²), internal reinforcements in factory-controlled improved adherence steel and square-mesh electro-welded B450C type mesh, accompanied by CHEMICAL RESISTANCE and REACTION TO FIRE (class: A1) certifications issued by an external body according to UNI EN standards.
The Dortmund Sludge Sedimentation Tank is supplied complete with: 

  • inlet hole(s) and outlet hole(s); 
  • r.c. slabs for hopper/s formation; 
  • pvc deflector cylinder(s) complete with stainless steel support brackets; 
  • Thomson weir channel complete with adjustment and support brackets entirely made of AISI 304 stainless steel; 
  • special pvc/stainless steel fittings.
