Features and operating principle

EDIL IMPIANTI 2 S.r.l. manufactures monobloc Flame Arrester / Flame Trap Manholes in Vibrated Reinforced Concrete in various sizes and with variable wall thicknesses.
Flame Arrester Manholes represent the ideal solution for protecting sewage networks and industrial plants, ensuring maximum safety against fire propagation within infrastructures.

Thanks to the robustness of vibrated reinforced concrete, these prefabricated products ensure high structural strength performance, impermeability, and durability even in critical environments.
The modular design facilitates installation, while the side knockout patterns allow for the perfect housing of pipes made of various materials, without requiring additional on-site processing.

Flame Arrester Manholes are manufactured in compliance with the main reference standards, providing high protection and helping maintain the safety of civil and industrial systems over time.

The manholes are made with CE-certified materials and concrete with a compressive strength class of C45/55 (RCK 55N/mm²) compliant with the specifications set out in UNI EN 206-1 and UNI 11104 for exposure classes XC4 (resistant to carbonation-induced corrosion), XS3-XD3 (resistant to chloride-induced corrosion, including from marine sources), XF1 (moderate concrete saturation in the absence of de-icing agents, concrete for vertical or inclined structural elements exposed to rain and freeze/thaw cycles), XA2 (resistant to aggressive chemical environments in natural soil and groundwater).

Supply specifications

Supply and installation of Underground Flame Arrester / Flame Trap Pit/Tank produced in DECLARED SERIES code ROMPIFIAMMA_ ______ with external dimensions of cm.____x____xh____ , manufactured under UNI EN ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 management systems, made of monobloc reinforced vibrated concrete (R.V.C.) with CE certified materials and recycled content according to the requirements specified in the Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAM), concrete compressive strength class C45/55 (RCK >55 N/mm²), compliant with the provisions of UNI EN 206-1 and UNI 11104 standards for exposure classes XC4, XS3-XD3, XF1, XA2, internal reinforcement in high-bond steel, GREESMIX5® steel fibers (if applicable), IDROCONCRETE 1200® crystallizing additive for integral waterproof concrete (if applicable), accompanied by Chemical Resistance and Reaction to Fire certifications issued by an external body according to UNI EN standards, reinforced with vertical r.v.c. pillars and stainless steel horizontal struts where required, with Elastocolor protective anti-crack elastomeric coating on external concrete walls with high permanent elasticity and elevated chemical resistance.
The Flame Arrester / Flame Trap system represents the ideal solution for protecting sewage networks and industrial plants, ensuring maximum safety against the propagation of fire within infrastructure. 
The unit consists of:

  • Pit/Tank code__________ dimensions cm.___x___xh___;
  • Driveway slab/cover plate h=20 cm for 1st category loads with n.2 inspection/access hatches clear opening cm.60x60;
  • AISI 304 stainless steel pipe stub __" DN___ at the pit INLET, perfectly sealed to the structure wall;
  • Intermediate R.V.C. baffle plate / dividing wall;
  • AISI 304 stainless steel pipe stub __" DN___ at the pit OUTLET, perfectly sealed to the structure wall;
  • N.2 AISI 304 stainless steel threaded sockets 2" DN50, one per chamber, for ventilation, degassing, and balanced pressure maintenance;
  • Reaction to Fire Certification issued by an external body according to UNI EN standards.
